An improved hub for public sport and wellbeing
Les Quennevais will continue to be the public sport and wellbeing hub for the west of the island but will be replaced by a state of the art facility to meet increasing demand. It is recognised that in the longer term the facility needs to be replaced to meet the expectations of islanders.
Les Quennevais will continue to be a stand alone facility and will incorporate a swimming pool, sports hall, health and fitness, gymnastics, 3G pitch, studios and squash. It will also provide space to deliver health outreach and ‘closer to home’ services.
The centre will be the main competition swimming venue for the island and will also provide one of two permanent gymnastics facilities. These will be a key focus for the teaching and development of their respective sports. The 3G pitch will complement the other outdoor pitches and amenities available on this important recreational site.
The centre will also provide space to deliver health outreach and ‘closer to home’ services and may also accommodate local library provision.
